This client’s goal was to build a self-sustaining, solo practice that their spouse could manage from the front desk. The brief included bringing in support services to bolster resilience and reduce hassle for this young family.

To maximise efficiency and give patients and referring doctors confidence in their professionalism, some operational roles needed to be filled.

The front-of-house spouse couldn’t manage surgical billing or transcription. Though they’d tried Dragon Dictation to help with typing, after endless hours training the voice-to-text software, the surgeon never wanted to go near it again!

Solution

We were tasked with providing software solutions that delivered full-time expertise to this small practice on a pay-per-use basis.

We set up Voice Box Intelligent Transcription – a dictation environment accessible by smartphone that uses AI voice-to-text technology and Australia-based proofreaders to check and format letters for approval and sending. Voice Box also sends letters electronically and files them straight into the surgeon’s practice management software.

The Hoxton Billings team registered the surgeon with over 40 private insurers, optimised his Billing Strategy and set up mobile access to on-demand support from the Billings team.

Results

Thanks to Hoxton, the vascular surgeon and spouse were able to start and operate a fully capable surgical practice with maximum professionalism and minimum fuss.

All this was achieved without hiring any staff, and overall costs are absolutely controlled since both services are pay-per-use with no registration or minimum fee.
